This free publication and CD-ROM focuses on how
education and the environment can be linked to advance
student learning. Included are descriptions of schools
successfully implementing environmental education programs
and summaries of research documenting how schools have
raised test scores of their students by using the environment
to help teach content in subject areas such as social
studies, science, reading, and math. The CD-ROM provides
a sampler of 43 free EE activities which are linked
to different grade levels and subject areas. Produced
by the Environmental Education & Training Partnership
(EETAP) in collaboration with the Association for Supervision

A team of EPA environmental educators have created a
new web site based on Guidelines for Excellence in EE
to help high school students find good environmental
information. The web site contains easy to find and
easy to understand information about air and water issues,
waste and recycling, conservation, health and safety,
ecosystems, and community environmental conditions.
It also links interested students to internship and
scholarship opportunities, environmental careers and
community involvement projects.

for children ages 10 to 15 that presents key findings
of the National Water Quality Inventory in an easy-to-read
format. The booklet includes projects for school or

A 2-day training designed to give youth leaders (grades
8-12) the tools necessary create a voice and have that
voice heard. Students will leave the program with the
knowledge, skills, materials, and motivation to educate
others about the importance of wetlands. This program
is a perfect match for scout groups, student leadership
associations, and service-learning groups that are interested
in promoting environmental awareness within their communities.
Additionally, there are exciting extensions to the program
which include creating or restoring a wetland in your
community.
